Florida USA Diary

Friday 16th March
Flew into Orlando Florida, picked up nice big white car [ Impala I think] and signed into our studio apartment.. 2.20am English time, so very tired.
Saturday 17th
Free breakfast followed by Time Share chat which gave us a pass to do lots of things for free [ boats etc]
First visit to Wal Mart for essential supplies. Sad there is no view of the lake and it is rather noisy during the afternoon. Went to Sizzler for a meal.
Sunday 18th
Mothering Sunday in England, nice card from Richard. Changed apartment to one on the ground floor right next to the lake.. much nicer.  Chris struggling to get his phone to work.
Monday 19th
Visited our friends Patsy and Leland in Deland. They have a beautiful house with a lace cottage in the grounds. Our for lunch and dinner and then played "chicken leg" dominoes until late. Brilliant day.
Tuesday 20th
Wal Mart and other shopping resting the rest of the day.. it is very hot 85 - 90 degrees
Wednesday 21st
Visited Larry and Ruby Kinney, then on to meet Ann and Dick and Bob and Carolyn, all went out for a meal at a Buffet, and toured all their homes in St Cloud. A really nice welcome from old friends.
Thursday 22nd
Off to Universal Studios, Chris particularly wanted to go to the new Harry Potter exhibition. We queued for 90 mins to go in the tower and on the ride, which looked quite innocent, but was actually horrific, both felt woozy when we got off! It is really hot today.
Friday 23rd
Arranged to meet friends Elayne and Bill but had a flat tyre on the way and Alamo changed the car, we now have a red one! Too late to go to Elayne's so spent the afternoon at Bok Tower south of Orlando, really nice gardens and lace in the visitor centre.
Saturday 24th
Visited Elayne and Bill, they took us for a nice lunch at the Three Bananas, a lake side restaurant, and then for a drive around the local sights. They have a nice double wide mobile home and it was great to see them again.
Sunday 25th
I went to Church, and then Chris and I drove to The Kennedy Space Centre and Cocoa Beach. Today is our Ruby Wedding Anniversary and we had lots of cards, celebrated with dinner on site at the Smokehouse Restaurant.
Monday 26th
Drove south to Sarasota and the Amish community. Had dinner in an Amish restaurant and visited a couple of very nice quilt shops.
Tuesday 27th
Chris had a sun bathing day and I went shopping at Michaels, Hobby Lobby and JoAnns.
Wednesday 28th
Joined a group 90 miles away for a lace meeting at Marlene's house. Patsy had arranged for me to join them. We had a wonderful lunch provided by Marlene. I took a piece of coloured trapunto to work on. Chris went back to Universal for the day using the site transport as I had the car.
Thursday 29th
Flea Market shopping, the drove to Louisa Lake. Patsy and Leland took us out for a meal and then back to our apartment for a game of dominoes again.. They gave us a wonderful lace teapot as a gift.
Friday 30th
Arranged a late book-out from the apartment, then drove the long way round to the Airport for our flight home. Very lucky again that we had three seats for the two of us. Car was waiting for us at Gatwick and drove home.. very tired.
